Tai Chi
Tai Chi is one of the ancient Chinese martial
arts, which combines profound principles and theories of Qi, martial art
techniques, and aesthetics. The movements are slow, soft and continuously
flowing; some are extracted from animals, aiming to make the physical body more
connected to nature. The intention of Tai Chi is to build communication with
one's internal energy (known as Qi) as well as letting the mind lead the
energy.
Tai Chi is not only known as a martial art, but also a health
exercise. Some movements are highly demanding, requiring good balance and
coordination of the body. However, Tai Chi is not difficult to begin. It needs
no equipment but music. Anyone — children, teenagers, adults or the aged — can
learn and perform Tai Chi if he or she wishes to.
We hope you will come and join us learn Tai Chi together at
Chinese Culture Corner — especially once Spring begins.
